52% of the World’s Population suffers from Headaches

Headache is a very common problem. Everyone struggles with this at least once in their life. However, there are many people in the world who regularly have severe headaches. Recently, scientists from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology have made a big disclosure about the data of such patients.

Researchers say that 52% of the world’s population suffers from some type of headache every year. These include migraine, normal headache, anxiety headache, etc. For this research, scientists studied those researches from 1961 to 2020, in which data related to headache was present.

14% of people suffering from migraine, 26% of people with anxiety headaches

Scientists have told in research that 14% of people in the world are patients of migraine. At the same time, 26% of people worry so much that it becomes the cause of severe headache. According to research, 15.8% of people in the world suffer from headache every day.

Headache problem more in women

While 17% of women worldwide are affected by migraine, only 8.5% of men are affected by it.
According to researchers, women are more prone to all types of headaches than men. Talking about migraine, while 17% of women are its patients worldwide, only 8.5% of men are affected by it. About 6% of women have a headache for 15 consecutive days or more, while in men this percentage is only 2.9%.

A similar study was also found in a study conducted by Global Burden of Disease in 2019. It was found that migraine is the second leading cause of disability worldwide and the first leading cause of disability in women under 50 years of age.

Many reasons for increasing migraine in people

Every year the problem of migraine is increasing. Researchers involved in the research say that there are many reasons for this. These can range from mental to physical, environmental, behavioral and psychological. However, the development of technology also plays an important role in this.
