A Balanced Diet helps in increasing Life Span

By making dietary changes, you can increase your age up to 13 years, while the age of women can increase up to 10 years. This claim has been made in a new study. According to the study published in the journal PLOS Medicine, if a woman starts eating a better diet at the age of 20, she can increase her life by 10 years. Whereas a male can add 13 years to his life. The study says that a healthy diet can also prolong the lifespan of the elderly.

Starting from the age of 60, a woman can extend her life up to 8 years. Whereas males can add about nine years to their life span. An 80-year-old can also benefit if green greens and vegetables are taken regularly in the diet. Changes in diet at this age can increase the lifespan of men and women by up to 3.5 years.

Dr. David Katz, President and Founder of the True Health Initiative, said, “A balanced diet reduces the risk of chronic disease and the risk of premature death. It means longevity. Apart from whole grains, regular consumption of walnuts, almonds and pistachios can also prevent diseases. Leaf and grain diets are also helpful in living longer.
