A San Francisco-based startup is innovating assistive technology for individuals with physical disabilities, introducing a device that allows hands-free control of PCs and mobile devices. The unique solution, named MouthPad, functions as a Bluetooth-enabled trackpad incorporated into a mouthpiece.

During Augmental’s recent public demonstration, software engineer Corbin Halliwill showcased the device’s functionality. By positioning MouthPad against the roof of his mouth and utilizing his tongue as a touch-sensitive input, Halliwill effortlessly navigated his iPhone, performed clicks, and accessed applications like Google Maps without the need for manual interaction.
