Enhance Your Viewing Experience: Netflix’s Smart TV App Now Allows Subtitle Adjustments

Netflix users have been able to change the appearance of subtitles for some time now, but the experience on Smart TVs is really not very convenient. In fact, to do that you have to access the website for the change to be applied. However, it is now possible to manage all of this from the Smart TV itself.

Netflix has announced the availability of an update to its application for Smart TVs that gives you the possibility to modify the appearance of subtitles without having to go through a smartphone, tablet or computer. You can choose a size (small, medium, or large) as well as a style (white text, white text on a black background, yellow text on a black background, or black text on a white background).

This is a welcome update for those who watch movies and series comfortably from their couch, especially as streaming on big screens such as (Smart TVs and game consoles) accounted for 77% of streaming minutes worldwide in the first quarter of 2022.

Several competing streaming platforms already allow subtitle adjustment. Disney+, Prime Video, and more, especially in countries like the United States that have even more platforms than we do. This new Netflix update comes nearly a year after the broadcaster rolled out badges for audio descriptions and subtitles, as well as expanding to over 11,000 hours of descriptive audio in over 30 languages.
