Galaxy Z (2023) series Smartphones will arrive sooner than expected
Rumors have been circulating for some time that Samsung will launch its latest generation foldable phones, those in the Galaxy Z series, earlier than expected and than usual. According to new information, the next Galaxy Unpacked will be held on July 26, 2023, where the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 will be announced.
If this information is confirmed, it reveals a change in Samsung’s strategy, which may be associated with weak sales of semiconductor chips, which affected Samsung’s profits. By launching the new foldable phones ahead of schedule, South Korea aims to increase its revenue in the third quarter of 2023.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 is expected to feature a distinctive teardrop hinge design, allowing the screen to fold more evenly and with less visible marks on the screen. While rumors differ on the exact dimensions of the phone, the screen is expected to be 7.6 inches, with its external display being 6.2 inches. The device is also rumored to have IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip5 will feature an updated hinge mechanism designed to minimize creases in the middle of the screen. This new teardrop hinge will allow both sides of the folding screen to close tightly without leaving any space between them. The external screen will also be larger at 3.8 inches, offering more space for additional features and controls.
A Snapdragon chipset will power the device, likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and it offers storage options ranging from 128 to 512GB. The phone’s photographic features are expected to include a dual-lens rear camera system with a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
