Google Photos gets a well-deserved Review

The popularity of Google Photos as one of the most widely used applications worldwide can be attributed, in part, to the continuous efforts of the Mountain View company to provide regular updates. These updates not only introduce new features such as editing tools, sorting options, and AI-powered enhancements but also enhance the overall user experience. However, one aspect that remains relatively unchanged within the application is its design.

However, some passages deserve a good cleaning to make them clearer. The worst in this area are undoubtedly its settings, in which it can be very difficult to navigate between the many options organized in a more or less random way. Even worse, the list seems endless and you often have to scroll to find what you really need… but that could be a thing of the past now.

It’s just that Google has just released a well-deserved update for Photos that finally removes that “pimple from the throat” of the application. Now everything is at your fingertips, more precisely in 6 different categories: Backup, Notifications, Preferences, Sharing, Apps and Devices, Privacy.

Here are the new sections of Google Photos:

  1. Backup: Backup photos and videos from this device to your Google Account
  2. Notifications: Turn on notifications for Google Photos
  3. Preferences: similar faces grouping, memories, gallery
  4. Share: hide videos in motion photos, suggestions, notifications
  5. Apps and devices: this device, photo frame, SD card access
6. Privacy: geolocation options, Google Lens, sharing options, grouping similar faces, photo frames, etc.

Each of the categories has a small icon to make it easier to read, while About is right at the bottom of the page. Please note that this new design is available in version 6.39 of the application, which appears to be rolling out yet.
