Google’s Screen-Less Fitbit Band Surfaces as NBA Star Stephen Curry Tests It

Google appears to be developing a new Fitbit wearable that ditches the screen altogether - something closer in concept to bands like Whoop - and it’s been quietly visible for months.

A recent report pointed to Google’s plans for a display-free Fitbit device, and around the same time, Stephen Curry - who works with Google as a Fitbit “Performance Advisor” - seemed to hint at it on social media. Those hints haven’t stopped.

According to sources, Curry has actually been wearing the unreleased band since January. The device, spotted in videos, press appearances, and social clips, features a slim design with a grey-and-orange finish. Its material and styling look very similar to existing Fitbit gear and even bands made for the Pixel Watch. In essence, it resembles Google’s Performance Band - but without any watch attached.

What’s arguably more revealing is a glimpse of the software side. A “Live Data” screen - likely part of the Fitbit app - shows metrics such as cardio load, heart rate, calories burned, and workout duration. While the interface looks consistent with Fitbit’s design language, this particular screen isn’t currently available in the app.

This preview was spotted on a Pixel phone in a behind-the-scenes vlog leading up to NBA All-Star Weekend, offering one of the clearest looks yet at how the band might function.

As of now, Google hasn’t shared any official launch details for the device.
