‘Grammy Awards’ Ceremony Postponed due to fear of Omicron

A lot has changed in the world in the last two years. The coronavirus pandemic has created uncertainty everywhere. Where everything seemed normal till the past, films were being released in cinema halls and stars were attending award shows. But now once again the whole world is shocked by the increasing cases of ‘Omicron’, a new form of coronavirus. Therefore, a big decision has been taken regarding the ‘Grammy Awards’ ceremony.

‘Grammy Awards’ was  to be held in Los Angeles

The ‘Grammy Awards’ ceremony to be held in Los Angeles was postponed. The ceremony was to be held on January 31 at  Arena in Los Angeles. A new date for the ceremony has not been announced yet.

The Recording Academy said that the decision to postpone the event was made after extensive consultations with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and many of our colleagues. “Due to Omicron, there was too much risk to hold the event on January 31,” the Recording Academy said in a statement.

 

Last Year the ceremony was Postponed

Last year also this program was postponed due to Covid-19. In 2021, it was postponed in January and held in the ‘Convention Center’ in Los Angeles in the month of March. In addition to the Grammys, many big award ceremonies were also postponed last year.
