How to Connect AirPods to a Windows PC
Step 1: Prepare Your AirPods
Place your AirPods in their charging case, close the lid, and wait a few seconds. Ensure the earbuds have at least 20% battery before attempting to pair.
Step 2: Enable Bluetooth on Your PC
AirPods connect via Bluetooth, so make sure it’s turned on:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- On Windows 11, you can also enable Bluetooth from the Quick Settings menu.
Step 3: Add a Bluetooth Device
Click Add Bluetooth or other device at the top of the Bluetooth settings menu.
Step 4: Select Bluetooth
From the menu that appears, select Bluetooth.
Step 5: Activate Pairing Mode on AirPods
- Open the AirPods case and press the small circular button on the back.
- Hold it down until the LED light starts flashing white.
- For older AirPods, the light is inside the case.
- For AirPods Pro, the light is on the front of the case.
Step 6: Look for Your AirPods in the Bluetooth Menu
After a few seconds, your AirPods should appear in the list of available Bluetooth devices.
Step 7: Select Your AirPods
Click on your AirPods from the list.
Step 8: Confirm Connection
A pop-up will appear stating, “Your device is ready to go.” Click Done. Going forward, your AirPods should automatically connect to your PC whenever Bluetooth is enabled.
How to Remove AirPods from Your PC
If you need to disconnect or remove your AirPods:
- Go to the Bluetooth & other devices menu.
- Find your AirPods, click them, and select Remove device.
- To reconnect later, repeat the steps above.
