The iPhone 16 is expected to launch shortly after Apple’s event on September 9, with preorders likely starting around September 13 and the official release around September 20. According to reports from Mark Gurman, Apple has scheduled mandatory meetings for employees around September 12-13, hinting at the imminent release.

As for new technology, Apple Intelligence, introduced during WWDC, won’t be available at launch but will arrive as part of the iOS 18.1 update in October. It’s expected that this feature will require at least an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, and may work across the iPhone 16 series.

The iPhone 16 will be powered by the new A18 chip, which comes with at least 8GB of RAM across all models, a step up from the iPhone 15 series. This chip is expected to enhance the Apple Intelligence experience.

On the design front, the iPhone 16 Pro will reportedly feature an upgraded Ultra Wide camera, jumping from 12MP to 48MP. The camera design will also be revamped with a more rounded module, possibly to support spatial video recording. Color options for the iPhone 16 will include new shades of yellow, black, blue, green, and pink, while the Pro models are set to come in white, black, and possibly a bronze shade called Desert Titanium.

This iPhone launch could also mark the end of the distinction between Pro and non-Pro models using different chips, with all models expected to feature the same A-series processor for the first time in several years.
