Latest iPads are not compatible with the new iPadOS 15.7.3

If you use an iPad that can run iPadOS 16 and you are using iPadOS 15 for whatever reason, be prepared to have to update very soon. Apple recently released the iPadOS 15.7.3 update, which only provides security fixes for the operating system. It turns out that iPadOS 15.7.3 is only compatible with the iPads that are not listed to be able to run iPadOS 16 i.e. iPad Air 2 from 2014 and iPad mini 4th generation from 2015.
Until now, Apple supported all iPads with iPadOS 15 updates, whether or not they were able to run iPadOS 16. The last of these updates was iPadOS 15.7.2, which was released in mid-December. Apple releases these updates for some time so that cautious users can stay protected from vulnerabilities while waiting for major bugs to be resolved in the latest version of the operating system.
But this grace period usually lasts only a few months. For example, the latest iPhones were forced to update to iOS 16 in December when the iOS 15.7.2 update stopped providing this support. This year, the release of iPadOS 16 came a month after the release of iOS 16, which is why the 15.7.2 update still supported the latest iPads.
The release of iPadOS 15.7.3 is part of a flurry of software updates Apple has released for most of its products, including feature updates for its latest operating systems (iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, macOS 13.2) and updates security only for iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS Big Sur and macOS Ventura.
