Lenovo exits Gaming Smartphone market

Lenovo is pulling out of the mobile gaming market and is therefore ordering its Legion line of smartphones to close. A company spokesperson made this strategic decision official by revealing that:

Lenovo is discontinuing its Android-based Legion gaming smartphones as part of a broader business transformation and consolidation of the gaming portfolio.  The company’s latest top of the range is the Legion Y70 and some of the more powerful models even had an SSD Raid… however it doesn’t seem to be enough for wider public acceptance.

The mobile gaming market is still occupied on the Android side by smartphones from Asus, the famous ROG Phone, Nubia from Red Magic and Black Shark from Xiaomi. It’s a safe bet that Lenovo will continue to develop its Moto (formerly Motorola) line of smartphones or even its ThinkPhone line of smartphones, which is aimed at professionals.

Lenovo exits gaming smartphone market

Let’s be honest, the gaming smartphone market is a niche market and there aren’t that many players interested in a highly prepared equipment for games but that often sacrifices other aspects, and usually it’s the photographic section.

A good smartphone for games costs as much as a high-end smartphone… however, despite having some advantages in games, it loses in many other situations to these… and naturally the smartest choice is to buy a high-end one , which runs the games fantastically, and then they have a lot more to offer.
