YouTuber Creates Tri-Console Gaming System With PS5, Xbox Series X, and Switch 2

The idea of a DIY console that can run multiple gaming systems isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but it’s been a long time since one has really stood out. Back in the early 2000s, there was Yoshi’s Boxx - a custom-built machine capable of running everything from a PC and Xbox to a PS2, GameCube, Atari 2600, and NES.

Now, a China-based YouTuber and hardware modder known as 小宁子 XNZ has taken that concept to a whole new level. She’s built a single, eye-catching triangular console that houses an Xbox Series X, a PlayStation 5, and a Switch 2 - all fully functional. With a single press of a button, the system instantly switches between consoles, as first highlighted by Tom’s Hardware.

According to XNZ, the motivation behind the project was simple convenience. She wanted to play console exclusives without having to stand up, power down one system, and turn on another every time she switched platforms. While that may sound a bit indulgent, it’s a feeling many gamers can understand - especially when multiple systems are already within arm’s reach.

The finished build nicknamed the “Ningtendo PXBOX 5,” looks far more refined than you might expect from a homemade project. XNZ says the design draws inspiration from Apple’s 2013 cylindrical Mac Pro. Each console was completely taken apart and carefully arranged inside the triangular enclosure. To manage heat, the system includes a large cooling fan at the base and a custom-made triangular heatsink, created by pouring molten metal into a specially designed mold. A prominent button on the top handles HDMI switching between the three systems.

XNZ has shared a detailed video showing the entire build process, along with footage of each console running inside the unified machine.

Whether you’re deeply invested in console gaming or not, it’s hard not to admire the craftsmanship and creativity behind the project. Sure, an HDMI switch would be cheaper and far simpler - but then we’d miss out on the wonderfully absurd charm of the Ningtendo PXBOX 5.
