Mozilla releases Firefox 104.0.2 to fix new Browser Bug

Mozilla is releasing a new version of its browser, Firefox 104.0.2, which as you can tell from its version number, is a corrective update. This is the second corrective version for version 104, which was released a few weeks ago, and comes days after version 104.0.1 was released to resolve some playback issues with Youtube.

Here’s what Firefox 104.0.2 offers:

  • Fixed an issue that made it impossible to use touch or a pen to drag the scroll bar across pages.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some users to crash the browser when running out of memory
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes affected video and audio playback when loaded via an iframe src attribute via cross-origin
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes affected video and audio playback when binding to Content-Security-Policy: sandbox

Firefox 104.0.2

In detail, the first item fixes a blocking issue affecting 32-bit versions of Windows since the release of Firefox 102. It appears that the issue was caused by the declaration of data specs, which can be “arbitrarily long”.

As always, if you already have a version of Mozilla’s browser installed on your device, you just need to update to Firefox 104.0.2. If you don’t have it yet, when you download it, you’ll already receive the new version, and you can do that here.

For information, the next “big” browser update will be version 105. This is currently in beta and will be available from the 20th of September in a stable version.
