Scandinavian thought out to the smallest detail.
Volvo EX30 presents itself as yet another Volvo option in a rapidly growing segment where the brand was not yet represented. Volvo’s mission is to boost electrification, which is why the EX30 hits the market at a competitive price, allowing access to 100% electric to more customers. A long wheelbase, large wheels and balanced proportions. It has five vibrant exterior colors that give it character and personality – from elegant Cloud Blue to bright and expressive Moss Yellow, the latter inspired by the lichens that grow on rocks along Sweden’s west coast.
Adjustable batteries to your needs
With the Volvo EX30, Volvo gives customers the freedom to choose which electric battery best suits their needs. The car features three powertrain options and two different battery types, which also allows it to offer a particularly attractive entry price.
“Single Motor” option with LFP battery uses the lithium iron phosphate chemistry, being more economical and with a production that consumes less resources, constituting the best option for customers who do not need a great autonomy.
If greater autonomy is desired, the “Single Motor Extended Range” variant of the Volvo EX30 emerges as the optimal choice. Equipped with an NMC battery comprising lithium, nickel, manganese, and cobalt, this variant demonstrates enhanced energy efficiency compared to the LFP variant. With an impressive range of up to 480 km between charges, it provides ample autonomy for extended journeys.
The Volvo EX30 is also equipped with fast-charging capabilities. The “Twin Motor” variant supports charging at a capacity of up to 153 kW, surpassing the average car capacity of 134 kW. This means that the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just over 25 minutes. Users can conveniently manage charging settings such as amperage, maximum charge level, and scheduling through the car’s central screen and app.
To optimize the driving experience, Volvo has meticulously tuned the EX30’s chassis to maximize its compact dimensions. The vehicle’s low center of gravity, along with its relatively low and evenly distributed weight, contribute to an agile and effortless driving experience, particularly in urban environments.
With a strong commitment to sustainability, the Volvo EX30 aims to achieve the smallest ecological footprint ever while prioritizing safety. Through comprehensive management of emissions produced during the vehicle’s production and lifecycle, Volvo has successfully reduced the total carbon footprint .
In fact, the EX30 model demonstrates a remarkable 25% reduction in CO2 footprint compared to Volvo’s current electric models. This accomplishment is made possible by reducing the use of aluminum and steel, two significant contributors to production-related CO2 emissions. Additionally, a considerable portion of aluminum (25%) and steel (17%) used in the car’s construction is sourced from recycled materials, further minimizing environmental impact.
