PlayStation 5 Slim now available for pre-order, the new console boasts a 30% reduction in volume and an 18% to 24% decrease in weight, depending on whether the user opts for a model with or without a disk drive. The console’s outer casing comprises four distinct panels, featuring a glossy upper part and a matte lower part.
Internally, the PlayStation 5 Slim retains its powerful processor and graphics capabilities, maintaining parity with the standard PlayStation 5. However, there is no notable performance improvement. Notably, the storage capacity has been upgraded to 1TB, surpassing the previous 825GB found in the existing models on the market.
A key feature of the new console is its removable disk drive, available as a separate purchase for users of the Digital Edition model. The price for the disk player in Europe is set at €119.90. Additionally, an optional vertical console stand can be acquired separately for €29.99.
For those interested in purchasing the PlayStation 5 Slim, the version with a disk drive is priced at €549 and is currently open for pre-orders on PlayStation Direct. Meanwhile, the Digital Edition, lacking a disk player, is listed at €449.99, though it is not currently available in the online store.
