Researchers Discovers 100 Million Year Old Flowers that belong to Dinosaur Era
New Discovery will give insight into Centuries-old perfectly Preserved Flowers can help Scientists Study the Development and Spread of Flowering Plants.
These flowers are Dinosaur Era
As per reports, two flowers were found to be correctly preserved in Globs of Amber. It is said that they bloomed at the feet of dinosaurs.
The new findings show how some flowering plants in the South African region today have remained unchanged for 90 million years. Two flowers still bloom in what is now Myanmar.
These Flowers Bloom only for a Short Time
The two flowers are believed to be short-lived (meaning a flower with a short life cycle). They disappear after flowering and turn into a fruit.
Not much change in so many years
The study’s author, Robert Spicer, said, “Its leaves are generally produced in larger numbers than flowers and are much stronger. They have high conservation potential.” “These particular flowers are almost identical to their modern relatives. There really isn’t a big difference,” Spicer said.
