Shocking Discovery : Icy Volcanoes found on Pluto, Spews Ice instead of Fire

About 16 years after the planet’s status was snatched away, once again scientists have done new research about Pluto. It has been published in the journal ‘Nature’. The US space agency NASA’s spacecraft New Horizons has seen such icy volcanoes for the first time on the rough land of Pluto. The surprising thing is that they do not eject hot lava like Earth’s volcanoes, but they spew a huge amount of ice.

According to scientists, finding these icy volcanoes has shown that there is a possibility of life on Pluto. They feared to find water on the surface of Pluto. However, surviving here would be a challenge for any organism, as the interior of Pluto is still hotter than before. More research is still needed on this.

According to NASA, about 10 such volcanoes have been found. However, these dome-shaped icy volcanoes have so far been found only on Pluto. Such volcanoes have not been found on any other planet. Such mysterious volcanoes discovered in research have never been seen before in the solar system.

These icy volcanoes have so far been found only on Pluto.
Scientists have named these icy volcanoes as cryovolcanoes. Water has accumulated in them. Now scientists hope to find such cryovolcanoes on other planets as well. Interesting facts have come to the fore in this new research done on Pluto.

Volcanoes spread over an area of 30 to 100 km
According to the Southwest Research Institute, a large amount of mud is coming out from the bottom of a valley in the southwest zone of Pluto, forming mountains of 1-7 km. These are spread over an area of 30 to 100 kms.
It has been told in the study that there are icy volcanoes on many other satellites of the solar system, but they are quite different from this volcano. Right now it is difficult to tell how long it has been since they were made here.

Pluto has Nitrogen Ice Glaciers

The color of Pluto’s surface varies between day and night.
Kelsey Singer, who was involved in the research, said that there are nitrogen ice glaciers inside Pluto. The ice formed from this nitrogen gas vaporizes during the day and becomes solid again at night. Because of this, the color of Pluto’s surface appears different in day and night. Every part of it is different from each other.

Information about icy volcano was found in 2015

An icy volcano on Pluto was discovered in 2015. At that time the NASA spacecraft had passed by it. New Horizons is the first spacecraft to pass by Pluto, with the help of which photographs of the volcano were taken.

Why was Pluto’s status terminated?
About 16 years ago, Pluto’s status was abolished. Pluto previously had the status of a planet in the Solar System, but it is very small. Due to being smaller than the Earth and the Moon, its status was abolished.
