Sony launches Xperia Stream

Sony announces Xperia Stream: Understand what it’s all about

Last week Sony revealed that it was holding an event today, September 12th, and that event was associated with the Xperia family of products and related to gaming. Many expected the company to announce a new gaming smartphone, and it was even speculated that it was a PlayStation Phone.

But that’s not what happened, the Japanese manufacturer announced the Sony Xperia Stream, which is nothing more than a cooling system for the Sony Xperia 1 IV. This device is powered from the smartphone’s USB-C port and adapts to the latter like a cover.

Starting with the cooling system, the Xperia Stream has a fan, which users can control using the Game Enhancer utility. Anyone who has had the opportunity to try the Sony Xperia 1 IV will probably be happy to be able to take advantage of a fan dedicated to cooling the smartphone, an aspect that according to several users, has not received due attention from Sony.

Xperia Stream is a new accessory for Sony Xperia 1 IV

But the Xperia Stream is not just a cooling system, as this device also has four ports on the bottom, namely a 3.5mm audio input, an HDMI port, a USB Type-C port and an Ethernet port that promises to be able to play through a monitor or TV and keep the phone fully charged even if the video plays at 1080p/120Hz.

At the moment there is no official information about the prices and availability of the Xperia Stream but it is easy to imagine that the new device from the Japanese giant is not cheap, especially if you consider the price of Sony’s flagship models for 2022. Probably, in the future, this new product is bundled with the Sony Xperia 1 IV.
