Vivo announces the X Fold+: A competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold 4

As expected, Vivo announced the new X Fold+, an improved version of the X Fold we all know, and which has been available in China for a few months now. The design is identical between the two models, but luckily there are some changes to the interior.

The Vivo X Fold+ features a 6.53-inch (21:9 format) 120Hz Amoled LPTO external panel, as well as an 8.03-inch (2160 x 1916 px) 120Hz Amoled LPTO collapsible internal panel. The most beautiful? Each of the screens has its own 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Inside, it has Qualcomm’s most powerful chip, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 supported by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Its battery has 4730mAh and supports 80W fast wired charging. In addition, it has wireless charging, but limited to 50W. Everything works on Origin OS Ocean, an interface that is based on Android 12.

For the photographic part, Vivo worked in collaboration with Zeiss, and this X Fold+ has a system very similar to its predecessor, that is, a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8), a 48MP ultra wide-angle sensor. (f/2.2), a 12MP 2x optical zoom (f/2) and an 8MP periscope zoom (f/3.4). At the front, it has a 16MP sensor (f/2.5).

Pricing and Availability

The big downside? is that this Vivo X Fold+ seems to be exclusive to the Chinese market, as is its predecessor. The price starts at 9,999 Yuan, which is around 1449 euros.
