X Unveils Premium+ Subscription at 16 Euros Monthly: Is It Worth It?
Elon Musk is rolling out a new subscription tier for his social network, formerly known as Twitter, now rebranded as X. This new subscription tier, aptly named Premium+, comes at a cost of 16 euros per month or 168 euros for an annual subscription.
In exchange for this subscription, users gain a variety of benefits, including an ad-free experience in the “For You” and “Following” sections, increased visibility for their posts, and access to comprehensive content creation tools.
A detailed breakdown of the added value provided by X Premium+ can be found at this link, allowing users to make an informed decision about whether this subscription is the game-changer they’ve been waiting for or simply a response to the platform’s declining advertising revenue.
In my personal opinion, users should never have to pay to use a social network, especially when they are already inundated with advertising, and their data is frequently shared with third-party companies without their consent.
Additionally, a new basic web-based subscription level is set to launch, priced at 3 euros per month, offering at least the “most essential premium features.” Nevertheless, this, too, appears somewhat steep to me.
Premium+ represents X’s latest subscription plan, and it hints at a future where the social network may become entirely reliant on paid subscriptions. As someone who currently uses the platform intermittently, the day this transition occurs could be the day I close my personal account.
