YouTube has introduced a new feature related to video comments. Content creators now have the ability to temporarily halt the addition of new comments to their videos. This feature is optional, and creators can still retain the previous comment moderation options if they prefer.
Previously, users had only two moderation choices: either keep comments for manual review before publication or disable all comments on a video. The new pause feature is currently in the process of being rolled out, providing users with an additional option in managing their video interactions.
As part of this update, YouTube has revamped the terminology of its existing moderation settings to enhance user comprehension. Instead of the previous choices, which included “Hold potentially inappropriate comments for review” and “Increase rigor,” users will now encounter simplified options: On, Pause, and Disable. Enabling comments also grants creators the flexibility to select from various moderation levels, including None (no moderation), Basic (for potentially unsuitable comments), Restricted (a larger number of comments for review), and Keep All.
