But certain museums are seeking to disprove this notion by offering different perspectives on the past that shed light on the dark sides of the region's rich and cosmopolitan past. For instance, the Bin Jelmood House is one of these museumsthat focuses on the impact of human oppression in the region and urging the elimination of these practices.
