From Castro's experience, the months of December through April are the busiest in town. The Cocora Valley is a popular hiking location in Colombia, located west of Bogota. From the adjacent town of Salento, you may either go on a day excursion or a multi-day walk around the valley. If you want to spend the night under the stars, there are campsites you may utilize. The world's tallest palm palms may be found there; these magnificent trees top out at over 195 feet and can survive for up to 200 years. The hills are beautiful, with shades of green that seem almost too vivid. Early in the morning or late in the afternoon (the "golden hour") is when Castro says you'll get the greatest views.
