Origin

After Nesselrode pudding, which was adapted into variations such as Nesselrode pie or Nesselrode chiffon pie in 1950s United States, itself named after the Russian diplomat Karl Nesselrode (1780-1862), for whom the dish was said to have been invented by a French chef.
