From Powhatan pichamins, pushemins, pasimenan (“dried fruit”), for the first element, compare Proto-Algonquian *paᐧʔsamwa (“dry”). The second element is from the same Proto-Algonquian root *-imin (“fruit, berry”) as Unami ximin.
