Samsung Brings Google Photos to the Big Screen on Its AI TVs

Samsung plans to introduce built-in Google Photos integration to its AI-driven televisions beginning next year.

In advance of CES 2026, the company revealed that it is collaborating with Google to make it easier for people to view their favorite memories - vacations, hobbies, and everyday moments with family and friends - on a larger, cinematic display.

Despite Google Photos’ popularity, there has never been a complete native TV app for it, even on Android TV or Google TV. Samsung says support will begin arriving on its TVs in March, and the feature will remain exclusive to Samsung for the first six months.

At launch, Google Photos on Samsung TVs will initially focus on the Memories feature, which automatically generates curated collections of standout images grouped by people, locations, or significant events. (Users will need to enable the feature in the settings menu.)

Samsung says that later in the year, Google Photos will tie more deeply into its Vision AI platform for televisions. This will allow photos to appear in areas like Daily+ and Daily Board, beginning with the 2026 lineup. Setting it up will simply require signing in with a Google account.

Samsung also previewed features planned for the second half of 2026, including “Create with AI” and “Personalized Results.” Create with AI will offer themed templates and creative tools - such as art-style transformations and converting photos into short videos - while Personalized Results will generate slideshows around particular interests or contexts, like travel destinations, activities, or specific topics.

In a separate pre-CES announcement, Samsung outlined its 2026 audio portfolio as well, which will feature two flagship soundbars along with new Music Studio Wi-Fi speakers.
