Sony Expands PlayStation Studios with Firewalk Acquisition
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the acquisition of Firewalk Studios which becomes the 20th PlayStation Studios. This is yet another studio that fits into the company’s games business, which did not miss the opportunity to acquire it.
“Firewalk is home to a remarkably talented team of creators who pioneered some of the most popular gaming experiences and are already hard at work on their first original AAA multiplayer game for PlayStation.” Reveals Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios. The game in question will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC.
This studio will collaborate with Bungie and Haven to create constantly updated live service games for PlayStation players.
Firewalk is already working on a PlayStation 5 exclusive
Firewalk was founded in 2018 by ProbablyMonsters boss Harold Ryan as part of the independent video game company. In April 2021, the two companies entered into an exclusive publishing partnership with Sony/PlayStation.
