I’m Stephen James, author of TRIAL BY CONSCIENCE, a compelling addition to historical crime novels. Born and raised in Birmingham, my love for history and literature has been with me since childhood, even while I built careers in catering, finance, and sales management. With poetry published locally, I eventually turned to storytelling, drawing on first-hand experiences — including narrowly missing the Birmingham bombings — to craft a gripping murder mystery that explores the shadows of conscience and truth.
