Amped routers are equipped with an advanced feature i.e Airtime Allocation that allows you to determine Wifi airtime among connected devices. Airtime Allocation is also known as Airtime Fairness and is only available in high-end routers. It is often used for degrading the priority among devices connected within the Guest network. A user can activate and configure Airtime Allocation in the entire Wifi network or individually to the connected devices using the setup.ampedwireless.com interface.

Using the web interface method to update the firmware of a Dlink range extender, a user must know that the Internet is only required to download the firmware. Once the firmware gets downloaded, you can interact with the web interface of the dlinkap.local device even without the service of the Internet. Some firmware updates revert default settings back to the range extender. You can create a back up of the configuration settings before the firmware update process.

Once the setup process gets done you can relocate the range extender to an optimum location from where it can receive the maximum amount of Wifi signals. You can also take the help of the Signal LED to determine a good spot for placing the range extender. If the signal LED turns blue it means the range extender is at a required distance from the router but if the signal LED turns red it means you need to bring the range extender closer to the router.

Make sure the Network Name and the Wi-fi password you typed on the respective fields are correct. Also make sure that your SSID is not set to Hidden Network. Sometimes during the configuration process, a user hides the network due to which your network name disappears from the Wi-fi list.

The Smart Connect feature automatically switches to the faster frequency band that removes the risk of sudden disconnection or latency during the download process. During the configuration, a user has to make sure that he assigns the same Network name to both the 2.4 GHz or 5GHz frequency bands.
View Review Page →New models of ASUS routers are also capable of being converted into a Repeater mode. In Repeater mode, a router connects to an existing network, repeats the Wi-fi signals back and forth to extend its wireless coverage. The LAN IP address of an ASUS router will get changed after being converted into a repeater. You have to download or install the Device Discovery Utility to find the IP address of your router. Using the IP address, you can also interact with the web interface of the router.asus.com window.
