Occupational Therapists (OTs) help to improve or maintain everyday activities for people with a physical, mental or cognitive challenge. OTs assess a persons activities of daily living (ADLs), which can include the things you need to do (get out of bed, shower, dress, eat, etc) and the things you want to do (leisure activities, etc). OTs observe and analyze body mechanics and offer suggestions to either modify the way the person performs the task, change the environment, or provide assistance, such as equipment, to help people do their everyday activities with ease.
