A usual root canal procedure takes around an hour and a half and is finished in a single visit. To ensure you experience the least amount of discomfort possible, our doctors will numb the areas around the tooth. (Contrary to popular belief, root canals are not painful; rather people have pain before the procedure is completed.) Next, the dentist will clean out the infected area inside your tooth and then fill in the inside with a rubber material. After a root canal, the tooth will likely be tender for several days while you are recovering.
