Dry rot is a type of invasive fungus that ruins wooden structures under excessive moisture. Even if the moisture level exceeds just 20%, the wooden structures are at risk of dry rot. Other than moisture, improper maintenance and other factors lead to dry rot. The fungus breaks the components in the wood, leaving it brittle and weak.
