Pipe Spool Fabrication Pipe spools are manufactured from a number of raw pipes and pipe fittings (e.g., elbows, flanges, tees, etc.) in our assembly shop. Raw pipes are cut to the required sizes then moved with pipe fittings to a fitting table, where some of the components are fitted together and tack welded checked dimensionally prior to final welding. K999 use a number of qualified welders and this number is increased to meet the clients schedule. K999 is able to produce up to 3000 diameter inches of welding in a single shift. Pipe spooling when fabricated offsite gives the client the ability to have the majority of piping spooled in the workshop including fit up, welding, NDT such as X-ray dimensional control, surface treatment and finishing prior to sending to site for inclusion into the piping system.
