Solar power uses photovoltaic cells to absorb light and generate electricity. This form of energy is the most common in the world and is still being improved on for better utilization. Solar power works by generating electricity from sunlight, which relies on photons from the sun to make an electric current flow through a circuit. When there's not enough light, it cannot produce the same amount of current which means it cannot produce as much electricity as it can when there's more sunlight. Solar panels are made up of semiconductors that work together to create a voltage when they've been exposed to ultraviolet light from sunlight which produces current in a circuit.
