Oxycodone is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Oxycodone extended-release tablet and capsule is used to treat severe pain in people who may need to take pain medication around the clock for a long time and cannot be controlled with other medications. Oxycodone tablets and capsules should not be used to relieve pain that can be relieved with basic medicines. Oxycodone tablets, capsules, and concentrates should only be used to treat people who cannot tolerate it.
