One of the reasons for this contradiction between the law and reality is the fact that gambling in Morocco has been a part of Moroccan culture for generations. Traditional forms of gambling such as the dice game, harrach, have been played for centuries. Additionally, many Moroccans view gambling as a harmless form of entertainment rather than a destructive habit.
