The directory years
Link Centre goes on to power the Lycos UK Directory, and sticks to reviewing submissions by hand to keep spam out.

August 2016
The 400,000th member registers on 3 August, days before our 20th birthday, which we marked by giving away lifetime Premium memberships. That 20th anniversary page is still online.

Thirty years on, 1,622,109 registered members across 180+ countries, still curated by people rather than crawlers.
