Helping to share the web since 1996
30 Years Online
Linkcentre.com was registered on 6 August 1996. Three decades later our core function is the same: helping people find and share the web, submitted and checked by real people. The web has changed a lot since then, but our mission hasn't, see what else we've done over the years at Interlink Digital Group
Three decades of sharing the web
-
6 August 1996
The linkcentre.com domain is registered, back when a hand-built directory was how most people found anything at all.
-
The directory years
Link Centre goes on to power the Lycos UK Directory, and sticks to reviewing submissions by hand to keep spam out.
-
August 2016
The 400,000th member registers on 3 August, days before our 20th birthday, which we marked by giving away lifetime Premium memberships. That 20th anniversary page is still online.
-
Today
Thirty years on, 1,662,853 registered members across 180+ countries, still curated by people rather than crawlers.
