About 40 percent of children in the UK are victims of cyberbullying: Report claims – Children are harassed through news, social media and online games in digital form. According to a new report by the UK’s Office of Communications (Ofcom), 39% of children aged 8 to 17 in the country are victims of cyberbullying. What is cyber bullying? According to Ofcom, 56% of children have been victims of cyberbullying through texting and messages. Online bullying is known as cyberbullying. It also means bullies or grandpa in Hindi. Some children humiliate, molest or dominate other children by using violence or intimidation. Such behavior is common among children.

 

 What does the research say?

The study found that 39% of children who suffered cyberbullying were more likely to be bullied online (84%) than face-to-face (61%). According to Ofcom, 56% of children have been victims of cyberbullying through texting and messages. With 43% of children being molested through social media and 30% through online gaming.

 

One aspect of cyberbullying is anonymity. 

People can harass anyone by hiding their identity. Girls are more vulnerable to cyberbullying than boys, according to the Ofcom report.

Also, 66 percent of parents fear that their child will become a victim of online bullying. More than 52% of parents of children who play online games feel that their child is being bullied while playing. However, 93% of children say they tell someone about it when they are being bullied.

 

 Online Identity Bullying 

Dr. Radha Moudgil says cyberbullying can be dangerous for children. This can constantly honder the children’s mind and risk of various mental issues also emerge . Dr. Radha says that one aspect of cyberbullying is anonymity. People can harass anyone by hiding their identity. In such a situation, a child can easily be bullied.
