Google Chrome 105 : It’s time to Update
Google yesterday started the process of releasing Chrome 105 for Linux, Mac and Windows, as well as mobile versions for Android and iOS. The search giant says this new version of its browser resolves a total of 24 security holes, at least one of which is marked as critical.
Although Google has not published details about the vulnerabilities the only thing that can be inferred from the Chrome 105 update notification is that at least one of the vulnerabilities has been given the threat level of “critical”. The cause is a use-after-free error in the network service.
Eight vulnerabilities are classified by Google programmers as high, nine as medium and three as low risk. As a result, there is no indication of the level of threat for three vulnerabilities either.
Google plans to roll out updated versions of the browser in the coming days and weeks. However, anyone who prefers risk mitigation due to the critical security flaw should check for themselves that their browser is up to date. All you need to do is click on the settings menu, ie the symbol with the three dots stacked in the upper right corner, next to the address bar. Then the path “Help” – “About Google Chrome” opens the version dialog.
