1. Take slow and deep breaths: According to the US National Library of Medicine, slow and deep breathing reduces stress. For this, first close your eyes. Imagine a good memory or place. Take a deep breath slowly through the nose. Exhale slowly through the mouth or nose. Repeat this several times. If you have trouble breathing slowly, count to five in your mind while inhaling and exhaling.
2. Exercise/play for 10 minutes: Even 10 minutes of exercise can reduce stress and anxiety. It also boosts confidence. Take a walk every day after dinner. Start the day with 5 minutes of stretching. Start any one favorite activity like dancing, playing cricket, badminton, painting etc.
3. Eat food with taste: Food items release different types of hormones, which also improve the mood. Whole grains and fruits and vegetables contain complex carbohydrates. They release the feelgood hormone serotonin. A high-protein diet triggers the release of norepinephrine, which increases energy and the ability to focus.
