CD Projekt Red achieve record results in Q3 2022 Report

CD Projekt Red posted record results in its third quarter of 2022, results largely driven by Cyberpunk 2077’s rebound in popularity.

Unloved when it launched in 2020, the futuristic RPG received many updates that ended up making the game a little more than presentable. The recent release of the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (whose lore is based on the game) has reignited interest in the Polish studio’s game.

The numbers prove this improvement: in the third quarter, CD Projekt Red reached a turnover of 52.4 million euros, well above the 30.8 million in the third quarter of 2021.

As for profits, it is a close escape, with 20.7 million euros in operating profit and 21 million euros in net profit, that is, 1/6 compared to the equivalent quarter of last year. Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077’s next big expansion should keep these good results over time… if its availability isn’t too far off.

The studio will also benefit from the many new projects currently in development, including Polaris, the first part of a new trilogy of The Witcher, and Hadar, a huge AAA project that we still don’t know much about.
