Google Home Receives Update and Exciting New Feature

The team of Google developers continues to work on improving the Google Home application, introducing small innovations that can guarantee users an increasingly rich and customizable experience. Well, among the most recent innovations we have small changes in the section dedicated to air conditioning, in which space is made for new devices, such as fans.

The new Google Home app opens by default to a customizable “Favorites” page, which shows device controls and switches, as well as camera feeds, all based on each user’s preferences.

The app features four sections located at the top displaying different categories such as cameras, lighting, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Initially, the air conditioning tab solely exhibited thermostats. However, the page has progressively expanded its collection of device types and now incorporates additional products such as fans and temperature sensors. Presently, the air conditioning section encompasses a wider range of options including thermostats, heaters, fans, air conditioning units, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, and temperature sensors.

These new device types apply not only to devices, but also to smart plugs that have been assigned to that device type. This new modification of the Google Home application adds to those recently introduced by the research giant’s team, such as those related to the possibility of reordering favorites or improving the controls of various smart home devices.  Deep down, Google seems to have as its primary objective to make its smart home management application more and more complete.

As always, the update is gradually being rolled out via the Play Store. For some users the novelty is already available, and for others it may take a few days, or weeks, to arrive.
