TeamViewer Vulnerability Exposed: Cybercriminals Capitalize on Security Flaw

Teamviewer has once again attracted the attention of cybercriminals. If we take into account what is being advanced, in recent weeks there have been at least two major cyber attacks on large companies through the exploitation of a flaw in the application.
The truth is that TeamViewer is a powerful remote access solution that is used around the world by millions of people and companies. But this type of software, as practical as it is, can also present itself as a powerful tool for cybercriminals.
This is how the software was used to spread new ransomware attacks. Security experts at Huntress said they have identified at least two infiltrations into corporate networks, with the attackers allegedly using Teamviewer to create an entry point.
Hackers had to gain access to Teamviewer accounts to allow the installation of ransomware on corporate PCs, with the aim of spreading the malware across the internal network.
This is not the first time this tool has been the target of this type of attack and for good reason: the software is currently installed on more than 400 million devices, including 30 million full-time.
