A Huge Loss For Volkswagen : 4000 Luxury Cars Worth Billions Burnt In The Sea
A cargo ship named Felicity S, which was sailed by Panama, caught fire on 16 February near the Azores Island of the Atlantic Ocean. It has been said that 3,965 Volkswagen luxury cars were present when this ship was left to swim in the ocean without any captain. These include cars from luxury brands like Lamborghini, Porsche and Audi. All 22 crew members aboard this ship have been rescued by the Portuguese Navy and Air Force and taken to a safe hotel. This information has been revealed by the Navy in one of their statements, while the ship has been left to swim alone in the sea without any crew member. The number of luxury cars said to be present on this ship is said to be worth billions of rupees, although this number has not been officially confirmed by Volkswagen yet.
Nearly 1,100 Porsche cars destroyed
Media website Bloomberg, states that the consignment had left for the Houston port of Texas carrying more than 100 GTR, Golf R and ID.4 models. According to a Porsche spokesperson, about 1,100 cars of the brand were present on the ship when the Felicity S caught fire. However, Lamborghini has not yet disclosed the number of cars on the ship. 2,000 cars already sunk in the sea
Felicity S was on her way to Davisville Port when the fire broke out on the cargo deck, a distress signal was issued as soon as the fire broke out.
