Google Chrome 107 available for Download

Google Chrome 107 officially released and arrives with support for HEVC
Google has just started the process of making the new Chrome 107 available, which doesn’t come with many new features, but the ones it does have are really important and useful. With Chrome 107, Google is enabling hardware decoding support for HEVC on all supported systems. HEVC, also known as H.265, is a video compression format supported by many modern applications, and Chrome now supports it by default, which is interesting given the opinions of other groups offering browsers.
While Apple’s WebKit team with Safari also supports HEVC, Mozilla has always been opposed to this with Firefox, largely because of the payments that must be made to use it.
Other small features active by default include improved interpolation of CSS grid template properties to allow programmers to achieve specific interactive effects, hints on display surfaces with the ability to delete the current tab, and a button display to switch display tabs during screen sharing.
Additionally, there’s an ignoreCase option for URLPattern, better render-blocking support, and a “rel” attribute for form elements.
As always, Chrome 107 is available for download at google.com/chrome. The update also resolves 14 security vulnerabilities.
