Google Meet now available on Samsung Smart TVs

Google fails a lot in the apps related to messages and video calls. In recent years, the company has offered applications like Gtalk, Hangouts, Allo and even Google Duo… and none of them have taken off. However, more recently, the company has incorporated some Google Duo functions into the new Google Meet, and now there are signs that the new official Google Meet app is about to appear on Samsung’s Smart TVs.
The new updated version features an interface optimized for large screen devices and will be easier to use with a controller. Unlike Google Duo, which previously featured a white theme, Google Meet will have a dark interface, more in line with current tastes and definitely less tiring on the eyes.
At the moment, we only know that the new interface will be available for some models and there is no indication of when Google Meet will be rolled out in a broader way for all compatible Smart TVs, but it shouldn’t be long.
The truth is that the application has already been added to the US store (here), but it cannot be downloaded, and even if one wants to check the list of compatible TVs, it will not show any specific model. There will likely be updates in the next few days.
For now, if we look at the previous Google Duo application for Samsung TVs, it has a limited list of compatible webcams, as well as being only available on the latest TV models.
