iOS 16.1 will come with 5 New features

Since the release of iOS 16, Apple has been working to correct the bugs in this system, especially in the new iPhone 14. Now that the vast majority of bugs are already part of the past, the company returns to hard at work on the upcoming iOS 16.1.

Within a few days, the update should be available to the general public. With it, Apple brings several new features, and some of them had already been presented by Apple during the last edition of WWDC.

The first big change that should see the light of day with iOS 16.1 is the arrival of “live interactions”. Introduced by Apple earlier this summer, this feature should make it possible to display information from a third-party app directly on the lock screen (thanks to Dynamic Island for iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max).

Another expected feature with iOS 16.1 is the arrival of the battery percentage indicator on the iPhone 12 and 13 “mini”. Both phones were not entitled to this feature with iOS 16. Apple has also overhauled the way the battery level is displayed inside the icon. While it remained constantly full in iOS 16, in iOS 16.1 the indicator will be much more accurate.

For athletes, Apple is also rolling out a feature announced at the last WWDC. The new version of the operating system for the iPhone is expected to update several native Apple applications, including Apple Fitness. Apple’s online sports service will now be available to ordinary iPhone owners.

Apple will launch the “green charge” option with iOS 16.1. This feature will be based on information provided by energy companies and will charge the phone when electricity is as carbon-free as possible. In other words, if your phone is plugged in overnight, it will only charge at certain times when electricity is generated correctly. This function can be turned off manually in iPhone settings. Apple promises that the iPhone will always be at 100% when the user wakes up.

Finally, Apple is releasing the new system on the basis of its satellite emergency communication system. Revealed during Apple’s latest talk, this new function should allow emergency services to be alerted from any position on Earth using satellites as a relay point.
