McDonald’s 850 outlets closed in Russia: Big Max packs sold for up to 26 thousand, long lines on the streets to eat the last burger

Due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, many Western countries have imposed sanctions in Russia. On March 13, McDonald’s closed all 850 of its restaurants in Russia. Before this, a crowd of Russian people appeared at McDonald’s to eat the last burger. Now the videos of Last Burger are going viral on social media.

Branches of many international food chains closed
McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski announced last week that it was appropriate to close the company’s units there as Russia continues to attack Ukraine. Although this is not the first ban, before this international food chains Star Bucks, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, KFC, Burger King have also closed their branches in Russia.

Apart from the food chain, many companies including Exxon-Mobil, General Electric, Netflix have stopped their operations in Russia.

    McDonald’s will continue to pay salary
    Fast food chain McDonald’s may close all branches in Russia, but it will continue to pay salaries to its 62,000 employees. However, people are extremely disappointed by this. Pianist Lukas Safronov handcuffed himself at the McDonald’s entry in Pushkin Square, Moscow, to protest the McDonald’s ban. Due to this move of 270-pound Lucas, the police took him into custody.

McDonald’s arrived in 1990
The first McDonald’s shop in the Soviet Union was inaugurated on 31 January 1990, amidst Gorbachev’s perestroika. More than 30,000 people visited the fast-food center that day. Whose entry was made in 27 registers. It was a record opening for the company. There were 5,000 people lined up outside the store. The entry of the American network marked the collapse of the Soviet Union, which ended on December 25, 1991.

 

Fridge Stuffed Burgers
Recently a photo went viral in which the fridge of a person’s house was seen filled with more than 50 burgers. Some people sold the Big Max for 250 pounds, i.e. 25 thousand rupees. Three or four burgers sold for 26 thousand or 40 thousand rubles. One order of Coca-Cola was sold for about 1 thousand, that is, 15 hundred rubles.
