Renault and Google renew their Partnership

Google and Renault announce a new stage in their partnership with the signing of new contracts for the design and production of the digital architecture of the “Software Defined Vehicle”, and the strengthening of the group’s digitization.

With these new agreements, Google and Renault will develop, on the one hand, a set of software components dedicated to the “Software Defined Vehicle” platform, both on board and on the periphery of the vehicle, and on the other hand, to deepen the synergies and use as part of the strategy “Move to Cloud” by the French company.

This cloud computing collaboration, which began in 2018, is now accelerating to create a true digital twin equipped with artificial intelligence technologies to facilitate seamless in-vehicle service integration and the creation of new on-board services ( or off-board). Ultimately, it will transform your entire operating model to gain agility, performance and profitability.

This collaboration will reduce development costs, improve development efficiency, flexibility and speed. Renault will also deepen the use of Google Cloud technologies for software development for the “Software Defined Vehicle” and, thus, will be able to better manage the capture and analysis of data, in a secure way. Early development use cases include:

Predictive maintenance to better detect and correct near real-time failures if necessary.
A personalized in-vehicle life experience (In-Car services) to adapt to driving behavior, common destinations (electric charging stations), etc.
Insurance models based on real usage and driving behaviors.

Renault also guarantees that it will be able to monitor and analyze the use of vehicles for a better understanding of the behavior and needs of customers, and truly individualized services adapted to their expectations, respecting the security and confidentiality in force.
